Soft Opening of the Alabama Gulf State Park Fishing Pier in
Gulf Shores, Alabama on 07-20-2009. Grand opening on 07-23-09.
It is now the longest  fishing pier on the Gulf Coast.

The 16 million dollar pier is 1520' long and 20' wide. The new pier
extends beyond the sand bar where as the old one did not. There
was a nice turn out and plenty of fish were being caught.
