Below is the original write up on
the video. It is Some video footage taken on Sept. 14, 2008 of an old unidentified wooden shipwreck exposed by the high surf of Hurricane Ike. We taped it 2 years ago here. It is now much more exposed. Some believe it could be the blockade runner Montecello lost in the Civil War. However in 2000 the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers said it could be the schooner Rachel, possibly a rum runner, which ran aground in 1933. Located about 6 miles from Fort Morgan. It is a couple of miles east of the known shipwreck of Ivanhoe. Ivanhoe was a iron hull blockade runner during the civil war that was beached and then burned by Union soldiers.
